Vandaag bereikte ons het bericht dat de openingswedstrijd van het FIA Europese kampioenschap rallycross werd geannuleerd. Het is de FFSA (Fédération Française du Sport Automobile) die iets meer dan een week voor de geplande data van 8 en 9 juni besloot de wedstrijd te schrappen.

De start wordt nu verschoven naar het Zweedse Holjes, waar ook het wereldkampioenschap zal aanvangen en wel tijdens het weekend van 6 en 7 juli.

Rallycross Promoter (RXP) is surprised and disappointed to learn that Euro RX of France at Essay’s Circuit des Ducs – due to take place on 8-9 June – has been unexpectedly withdrawn from the FIA International Sporting Calendar at the request of the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA), France’s national motorsport governing body.
RXP shares the immense disappointment and frustration of partners, competitors, fans and the circuit team at Essay, who have been working tirelessly on this project for many months.
We had been looking forward to a successful and enjoyable event to mark Essay’s return to European competition for the first time in 13 years, with a full grid in Euro RX1 and a number of high-profile French drivers in the field.
Euro RX of France had been due to open the 2024 season for Euro RX1, Euro RX3 and RX2e. The campaign will now get underway with Ferratum World RX of Sweden at Höljes – rallycross ‘Magic Weekend’ – on 6-7 July.
